Here is a simple to follow howto video on making your own entrance reducers.

Step 1 - Cut your lumber to final dimensions. This will be 3/4 x 3/4 x 12 1/8" for 8 frame, 3/4 x 3/4 x 14 3/4" for 10 frame, or 3/4 x 3/4 x 7" for 5 frame beehives.

Step 2 - Using your table saw cut a 1" x 3/8" notch in one face of your entrance reducer, 1" from the end of the entrance reducer.

Step 3 - Rotate your entrance reducer 90 degrees, so that the notch from step 2 now faces directly towards you, or directly away from you.

Step 4 - Using your table saw cut a 3" x 3/8" notch in the face of your entrance reducer that is now facing down, cut it 1" from the end of the entrance reducer and on the opposite end from the cut you made in step 2.
