Exceptions to this are as follows:
Orders requiring more than one large box: In the case of an order requiring multiple large boxes, we will pay the shipping cost of the first container only and only up to a total of $50. You will cover shipping on the remaining boxes.
On orders in a single box, with a total shipping cost of over $50 in UPS fees, Funny Bug will cover the first $50 and the remaining balance will be the customer's responsibility. Due to us being in North Carolina, and some customers being on the west coast, some customers will pay a few dollars for a single box shipment if they are west of Louisiana. This distance can vary depending on the box weight.
No free shipping on assembled Products:
We do NOT offer free shipping on assembled hive bodies, assembled supers, assembled swarm traps or assembled NUC's even if the order total is over $175.
If they are included in your order, they will be shipped separately from your other items and you will be billed once a shipping quote is obtained. Assembled products require large boxes and higher shipping fees. For example. A complete hive kit unassembled costs $28 on average to ship. The same product assembled costs nearly $50! If you order your products assembled and select "free shipping" as your shipping method, we will call you once the products are packaged to let you know, and we will email you an invoice for the UPS shipping charges which must be paid online before we will send your product out the door.
We use UPS to give us shipping quotes during your checkout. These are not always exact and it is common for us to either give you a credit for a shipping overcharge or need to collect additional shipping from you once the package is packaged for shipment with final weight and dimensions. Once shipping has been verified you will either be charged the remainder or refunded the balance of what remains of the shipping amount we charged you during checkout. **Only applies to orders which do not qualify for free shipping**
Why do we do this?
The size of your package varies greatly depending on whether you purchase your products assembled (larger dimensions = more shipping cost) or unassembled (smaller dimensions = smaller shipping cost). You will be contacted by phone or email within 24 hours of your purchase with a shipping quote (except on UPS holidays and weekends) in which case you will be contacted on the first day after your order that UPS is open for business. At that time you will be charged for the difference in the shipping pre-pay and the actual shipping total.
We attempt to get you the least costly shipping method based on your package dimensions and weight. We use UPS exclusively for shipping. Funny Bug Bees is not responsible for damage during shipment. If you wish to have the items you purchase insured for shipping, please inform us in the "Add comments about your order" box on step 4 of the checkout process and we will send you an invoice that UPS charges for the insurance.
All unassembled parts are pre-cut for you to the final dimensions. You will need tools to assemble unassembled products. These may include a hammer, screwdriver, nails, glue, corner clamps, sheet metal sheers, stapler, among others.
Cutting wood to final dimensions and then waiting for several days (shipping time) to construct it often causes some warpage of the wood as more grain is exposed to the elements.
You understand that unassembled products may be slightly warped and require you to use clamps during the assembly process to align parts for securing with nails, glue or screws.
You further agree that warped, unassembled products are not warrantied. You may, however, return them to us and we will assemble the products for you. There will be a $5.00 fee per item charge for us to assemble them.
You agree to pay shipping in both directions to use this service. You further agree that unassembled products are sold "As Is" and no refunds are available for any products purchased unassembled which arrive with warpage.
We do not warranty wood parts you break during your attempt to construct the items. If you have items which are broken during shipment and were purchased unassembled, they must be reported to us the day the item arrives at your shipping destination in order for it to be warrantied. It is assumed any items which you report broken after the day they arrived at your shipping location, were broken during your attempt to construct them. Items which are returned to us unassembled and with nail holes, screw holes, glue residue or other signs of a construction attempt will not be warrantied.
If you are concerned about this, order your products assembled and one of our staff will construct the items for you and we will ship them assembled.
You are billed at the time of purchase for your items. If you use Paypal we add the fee they charge for processing your order, which is usually 1% of the sale total.
Order Lead Time:
We try to keep a supply of all products in stock. However, sometimes, due to a high number of incoming orders, we must craft some products for some orders as they come in. This can cause a lead time of up to 72 hours depending on the size of the order before it ships. If your order will take more than 24 hours to ship, you will be notified via email. Most orders ship within 1 business day of your order, excepting weekends and holidays in which case your order will ship the following weekday. Orders placed after 3 PM EST on Friday will not ship until Monday as UPS does not allow pick up on Saturday or Sunday at our location.
Painted products will be shipped within 72 business hours of order placement! We do not stock painted items, it is a service provided to you at the time of purchase and therefore we need a couple days to get your products through the paint shop, let them dry, and then package and ship them.
We offer a 100% money-back 30-day guarantee on all orders placed on our website or purchased in person at our location, with the exception of unassembled products you ordered, tried to construct and damaged. If you are not satisfied you will receive a complete refund minus the shipping fees once we receive your unwanted products back in our shop. You are responsible for return shipping to return the item to us. **You pay shipping cost in both directions if you wish to obtain a refund for your purchase**. Items must be in new, unused condition to be eligible for a refund. Items returned used, or not in new condition will be held for you to arrange for shipping back to you or for you to pick up at our store. You will not receive a refund for those items.
Defects in workmanship:
Enables Google data collection for Display and Search Remarketing. This includes data from Google's signed-in users who have chosen to enable Google to associate their web and app browsing history with their Google account, and to use such information from their Google account to personalize ads. Google Analytics temporarily joins these identifiers to our Google Analytics data in order to support our audiences.

We have Enabled Google's Advertising Reporting features like Audience Demographics and Interests Reporting, DoubleClick Campaign Manager reporting, DoubleClick Bid Manager reporting, and Google Display Network Impression Reporting that help us better understand our users.
